How i loved music

From my childhood up to now, i always loved music. My mom introduced me to music as she, apparently, also loves music.

I was amazed at the musicians. The way they played the instruments, the way they sang, and the way they love music by heart.

My aunt has a son, and he treats me as a brother, and i treat him the same way.

His name is Sean Pabico,

“Kuya Sean” for short.

Kuya Sean was trained in drums, piano, and many different instruments, at an early age.

At an early age. Imagine how far I could’ve gone when i was also trained like him?

Today, Kuya Sean is a Prodigy in music.

He can play all kinds of instruments, he can make his own music, he can copy music by ear, and he can read sheet music! He can do many things, amazing things.

I on the other hand, ends up listening, watching, and observing him.

Since i was so amazed, i asked him if he could teach me his talent!

Surprisingly, he said yes!

We were at Singapore at that time, and we were so young.

Even though he would teach me all sorts of things, i just couldn’t keep up.

He was on another level,

I on the other hand,

Just sucks. 😥

Years have passed, and here i am now.

I can now keep up with him!

How?

When i was grade 8, my schoolmates were playing the guitar, they took turns in playing. I wanted to play the guitar (even though i wasn’t good enough) and they both agreed but said i should wait for my turn.

But they didn’t let me borrow it as if they think that i might brake it.

I got sad that time.

But Kuya Sean didn’t see me as they did.

He bought me a guitar! A present that I didn’t think would change my life.

I studied, worked hard, on my own. With some help of Kuya sean, Mamoo (my second mother, my mom’s bestfriend), and Youtube.

I came this far, and will go further.

This is me playing with Kuya Paolo (my mom’s friend who is also a great pianist, and a musician) at My Aunt’s Coffee shop. It was the Anniversary of their shop so they decided to hold a mini concert.

I also play different kinds of instruments like the bass, piano, drums and etc.

I can also make my own music!

Kuya Marko (my uncle’s son who happens to be also a great musician), Me, and Kuya Sean.

This is us jamming for fun!

I made a song cover that reached a thousand views!

I really love music. Music makes me bring out all my emotions that i hide inside of me, it translates very well.

Now, i help my friends in learning new stuff in music, although they know that they know how to play, they still ask help, which makes me feel happy.

Here are some quotes from famous musicians:

“Life is what happens when you’re making other plans.”

-John Lennon

“No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind.”

-Taylor Swift

“The beautiful thing about learning is that nobody can take it away from you.”

-BB King

“And, in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make.”

-Paul McCartney

This blog wasn’t for me to brag about anything.

This blog was for you to know that it isn’t too late to learn something. It might be hard at first but it will be easier eventually. Remember, success doesn’t come without failure.

Reach your goals, dream more.

It may be a long journey, but to reach our destination, we need to experience the trail. This way, we will find better ways to avoid rough roads and eventually find a smoother one. Remember to never find shortcuts to your destination because you may reach it, but imagine the people going through rough roads just to reach their destination.

You may encounter a rough road, a bumpy road, a smooth road, a slippery road, we will experience different kinds of roads.

It is up to us to drive and follow the route to our destination.
